Educational Background

He had his primary education in 6 different south eastern schools being the son of a head master in St. Paul’s Primary School Owerri, from which he moved to Township School Owerri, and then to Ihite Ogada Primary School, Logara Mbaise Primary School and Amakohia Ubi Primary School. He then continued to the secondary level at Holy Ghost College Owerri and later, Boys High School Nkwerre, Also  within the south east region of Nigeria.

Myke Ikoku pursued higher education at the University of Lagos, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology. Following this, he studied public administration at the Chartered Institute of Local Government and Public Administration of Nigeria.

In a letter to President Obasanjo during a visit to Imo State in April of that year, he emphasized the need for economic growth in rural areas, focusing on specific communities in need rather than seeking personal gain.

In 1999, Myke Ikoku praised President Obasanjo’s efforts to reform the police force and expressed support for his decision to appoint General David Jemibewon as Minister of Police Affairs. In the following years, Ikoku continued to be involved in the political process, endorsing President Goodluck Jonathan’s reelection campaign. In 2014, he decided to run for a seat in the Federal House of Representatives.
